“And He rode upon a cherub, and flew. He flew upon the wings of the wind” (Psalm 18:10). It is significant that David spoke of the LORD flying on a “cherub” rather than simply an “angel”. Cherubs are the creatures associated with the ark of covenant and the ark chariot of Ezekiel. “In my distress I called upon the LORD… Then the earth shook and trembled… Smoke went up from His nostrils… He bowed the heavens also, and came down” (Psalm 18:6-9). God HEARS and RESPONDS to our prayers. He “comes down” and shakes us and those around us when we put our faith in Him! He is not indifferent to what you're going through. “In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried out to my God. He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears” (Psalm 18:6). When David prayed, the physical temple in Jerusalem didn’t exist yet. His prayer went to the Greater Temple, the Archetypal Temple in Heaven, Jesus Christ!
